Enjoy a few great takes taken in Kiskeya, in Jarabacoa, DR. It was pretty cloudy and rainy at first, but in time for the full color burst the sky opened up and the red moon beamed down on us. It’s  a truly rare supermoon eclipse and the first of its kind since 1982. It will also be the last of it’s kind until 2033.

A supermoon is called that because it i larger than usual. It is the coincidence of a full moon with the closest approach of the earth to he moon’s orbit. The technical term is “perigee-syzygy of the Earth-Moon-Sun system” but we’ll stick with supermoon, or blood moon because of the red color the moon takes on during the eclipse.
